Department Manager | Special Techniques Buildings and Facility Managment

In this role, you combine strategic leadership with hands-on management of high-value projects for major clients, including datacentres and multi-site environments. Based in Brussels, you work at the crossroads of technology, people and long-term customer partnerships within Equans Belgium.

Your work location: Brussels and project sites across Belgium

Zoom on the job:

• manage building, facility management and datacentre contracts across Belgium
• oversee national and international contracts, including European agreements, in English
• coordinate and follow up high-value projects typically ranging from €1 to €2 million
• define and deploy the department strategy and translate it into concrete actions
• carry full P&L responsibility, including budget, financial targets and cash collection
• monitor costs, turnover and results and initiate corrective actions when needed
• manage customer relationships and support contract negotiations with sales and tendering
• take final responsibility for execution, quality, environment and health and safety
• drive continuous improvement and operational excellence within the department
• lead, develop and staff the team in close collaboration with HR

Come as you are, ideally with:

• a master’s degree in electromechanics, electricity or a related field
• at least 10 years of hands-on experience in technical roles, project management and or operations
• proven experience as a people manager, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
• experience working for large clients and in contract management within multi-site environments, ideally datacentres
• strong negotiation skills and the ability to guide long decision-making processes
• a leadership style that motivates teams and drives results
• clear communication skills and a strong customer-oriented approach
• a commercial mindset and the ability to take ownership
• willingness to travel to sites across Belgium
• fluency in French and Dutch, with a good working knowledge of English
