Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior IT Controller to support our IT organization. The successful candidate will be entrusted with the comprehensive oversight of financial operations within the IT department, with a pronounced emphasis on cost management, rebilling, and financial efficiency. This role demands exceptional analytical acumen, meticulous attention to detail, and extensive expertise in IT financial management, including Opex and Capex management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Formulate and administer the IT department’s budget, forecast and actuals financial performance, and conduct thorough variance analyses. Ensure detailed tracking and reporting of financial metrics.
  • Cost Management: Exercise vigilant oversight of IT expenditures, identify and implement cost-saving measures, and ensure the adoption of cost-effective practices. Conduct in-dept cost-benefit analyses and continuously monitor cost drivers.
  • IT Rebilling Management: Ensure timely and accurate rebilling to IT internal customers and maintain the IT Belux rebilling framework.
  • Opex and Capex Management: Manage and optimize both operational and capital expenditures, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Develop and implement strategies for effective Opex and Capex planning and control.
  • Financial Reporting: Compile and deliver detailed financial reports to senior management, offering insights and recommendations. Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial documentation.
  • Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Project Financial Oversight: Supervise the financial dimensions of IT projects, ensuring discipline and timely completion within budgetary constraints. Provide detailed financial projections and track project expenditures meticulously.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with IT and finance teams to harmonize financial objectives with overarching business goals. Facilitate detailed financial discussions and ensure alignment across departments.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential financial risks within the IT department and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • IT cost management processes: review, implement, and maintain robust IT cost management frameworks, processes, policies, and procedures.
  • IT tooling: provide the right set of tools to the IT community to support them in their financial & budget processes
  • Procurement Point of Contact: Act as the primary point of contact for procurement-related topics, including purchase orders (PO), ordering, and vendor management.

  • Reporting Structure: Direct reporting to the CIO.
  • Team Structure: Lead a team of 1 person
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Regular communication
    • with all IT Core team members
    • with Procurement and Finance Departments representatives
    • with Group IT finance representatives
    • and, as needed, with business representatives

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a senior IT controller capacity.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP) and analytical tools, coupled with strong problem-solving capabilities. Experience with detailed financial modelling and analysis.
  • Domain Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of IT financial management principles, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, recharging mechanisms, and Opex and Capex management. Familiarity with detailed financial reporting standards and practices.
  • Languages: proficiency in at least one of the Belgian national languages (French /Dutch) and in English is a must.

  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated experience in managing detailed financial operations. Strong focus on detailed financial documentation and record-keeping.
